THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania State Police is seeking a motivated Construction Project Administrator 1 who enjoys guiding important facility projects. This role supports the upkeep and improvement of buildings and grounds across department headquarters. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position manages maintenance, construction, and leasing activities for department facilities. It ensures that buildings, projects, and repair work follow established standards and support agency operations. As a Construction Project Administrator 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Section Supervision:
Manage maintenance and custodial supervisors, assign work, and review performance - Project Coordination:
Coordinate construction, renovation, and demolition projects with agency and contractor staff - Lease Management:
Evaluate leases, track costs, inspect sites, and prepare plans for office and storage space needs - Facility Improvements:
Review upgrade requests, recommend changes, and help implement approved improvements - Site Inspections:
Conduct inspections, attend meetings, and ensure projects meet safety and operational standards - Technical Support:
Provide guidance for leased facilities, prepare reports, and assist with managing asbestos materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position requires travel to troop and station locations throughout the Commonwealth.

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,086.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; or
- Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor’s degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Two years or more of AutoCAD experience.
- You must pass a b ackground investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
