This position provides dental care, evaluates oral health needs, and leads clinical staff to support efficient and effective operations at SCI Laurel Highlands. The role focuses on patient treatment, staff guidance, and compliance with standards for dental practice and secure procedures. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:
- Patient Evaluation:
Perform examinations, review medical histories, diagnose oral diseases, and prepare treatment plans - Clinical Procedures:
Provide restorative, endodontic, surgical, and preventative treatments while maintaining infection control standards - Care Coordination:
Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care specialists as needed - Staff Leadership:
Direct dental assistants and hygienists, provide training, review performance, and support corrective actions - Operational Review:
Examine schedules, records, requests, and documentation to ensure compliance with quality and procedural standards - Supply Oversight:
Monitor inventory, approve replenishment, and maintain security, tool control, and toxic and caustic control

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. You will not be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call duties.
- Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55
- DEA License renewal and liability insurance is covered by the Commonwealth
- Up to 50 hours of additional paid leave for job-related continuing medical education

- Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- You must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
