This position provides dental examinations, treatments, and guidance to inmates while ensuring safe and effective clinical practices. It also involves oversight of dental staff and continuous evaluation of clinic operations. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:
- Clinical Care: Perform periodontal exams, review medical histories, diagnose oral conditions, and develop treatment plans
- Treatment Delivery: Provide restorative, preventative, and anesthetic procedures while maintaining infection control standards
- Patient Guidance: Explain preventative practices, post-procedure instructions, and respond to patient concerns
- Staff Oversight: Lead Dental Assistants and Hygienists, train staff, and evaluate performance and clinic practices
- Operational Review: Assess scheduling, records, referrals, and prescriptions to support quality improvement
- Inventory Control: Manage supplies, approve new inventory requests, and ensure proper security and tool control
- Part-time employment, up to 30 hours per week
- Work hours will be determined. You will not be required to work weekends.
- Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Hourly Rate: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $84.94 hourly (before taxes).

- Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- You must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
