Lead Manufacturing Excellence in a Fast-Paced Production Environment

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and support manufacturing operations. This role drives performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost Control while managing hourly production associates. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee development. This role offers the chance to directly impact manufacturing operations through daily management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise 20 hourly production associates.
  • Manage daily time and attendance, vacation scheduling, staffing, and production planning.
  • Enforce company policies and labor agreement requirements while administering corrective actions as needed.
  • Respond immediately to safety incidents, conduct investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive achievement of operational KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost.
  • Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Work closely with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Manage labor utilization, manufacturing variances, work center performance, and cost control initiatives.
  • Lead daily management activities and ensure execution of production objectives.
  • Collaborate with Material Planning, Production Planning, and Customer Service teams to align production capacity with customer demand.
  • Execute objectives related to strategic operational initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Champion Kaizen activities and support a culture of operational excellence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills.
  • Experience interpreting data and using metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to support manufacturing operations.
  • Basic understanding of financial and operational performance metrics.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Manufacturing supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, 5 Whys, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with materials planning, procurement, scheduling, or inventory management.
  • Experience supporting quality systems, customer defect resolution, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
