OverviewThe Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. Over 16 weeks you will participate in a self‑paced, collaborative training that includes both virtual and hands‑on learning experiences. Your support team will include a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and your Store Manager coach.
Key Responsibilities- Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program.
- Support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage your colleagues to support the company’s purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
- Be willing to accept promotion roles with the market where you work.
- Support the store’s operations, including customer care and merchandising strategies, to drive sales growth and maintain profitability.
- High school diploma or GED (required). Four‑year college degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Retail management experience or prior experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Communication skills – verbal and written – to support and lead your team.
- Ability to manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Willingness to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs and to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores located within the designated market.

Full time - Pay range: $18.50 – $26.25 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary); actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
