DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position provides ongoing case management and support to individuals and their families.
- Case Management:
Maintain regular contact with consumers and families to assess services and document progress. - Lead Support:
Guide professional staff or student interns when assigned. - Advocacy Services:
Help consumers access economic, health, physical, or vocational resources. - Direct Contact:
Provide frequent outreach and treatment based on individual needs. - Crisis Response:
Deliver emergency and on‑call support on a rotating schedule. - Information Gathering:
Collect personal and family details needed to identify concerns and connect consumers with services.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch.
- Irregular hours including evenings and weekends may be required.
- Works on a rotating basis 24/7 once trained.
- Occasional overnight and out‑of‑county travel for meetings or training.
- Telework:

- Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
- A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
- A bachelor's degree that includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
