DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role focuses on supporting caseworkers and children through supervision, transportation, documentation, and day‑to‑day assistance. As a Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Child Supervision: Supervise and monitor children during appointments, visitation, court events, and approved activities.
- Placement Support: Assist with admission, placement, and discharge procedures for children in agency custody.
- Home Visit Assistance: Accompany caseworkers on home visits and report observations about child and family functioning.
- Record Management: Obtain and maintain medical, dental, vision, immunization, and related records.
- Transportation Tasks: Transport foster children to visits, school, appointments, and approved activities.
- Resource Coordination: Support communication between the agency and resource families during placement transitions.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with 60‑minute lunch.
- Possible travel requiring overnight stays; possible after‑hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.

In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
