County Social Services Aide ; Local Government

Cambria County Children and Youth Services is seeking a Social Services Aide I to provide essential support to caseworkers in helping families achieve established goals and objectives. This position assists with a variety of client-related and administrative tasks that contribute to the delivery of quality social services. This position supports social service staff by carrying out paraprofessional case management duties and assisting with interviews, home visits, and client monitoring. The role helps ensure that clients receive needed services and that professional staff have accurate information for planning and assessments. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Interview Support:
  Assist with obtaining and verifying information needed for determining client eligibility for social services
• Home Visit Assistance:
  Plan, schedule, and conduct home visits or accompany professional staff, sharing observations and assessments
• Client Monitoring:
  Observe families in maintaining home conditions, caring for children, and using public transportation
• Resource Guidance:
  Provide information, referrals, and assistance in locating housing and community resources
• Community Liaison:
  Serve as a link between the agency and community organizations under the direction of professional staff

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework:
  You will not have the option to telework in this position.

• Graduation from high school; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

• This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
