As a Part-Time, Substitute Meal Transporter, you will play an essential role in promoting independence, health, and connection for the seniors we serve. This role is perfect for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and enjoys being out on the road.
Your deliveries help ensure older adults can remain safe, nourished, and independent at home.
A meal transporter is responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed service rosters, ensuring all deliveries are properly documented and completed on schedule. They deliver meals safely and efficiently to designated locations, and promptly inform the office of any changes in routes, client needs, or delivery circumstances. This role includes ordering upcoming meals as required and inspecting both the quality and quantity of food before distribution to ensure standards are met.
Additionally, the meal transporter must keep their vehicle in safe, clean, and sanitary condition at all times.
- Part‑time, substitute employment.
- The selected candidate will train for six full weeks. Upon successful completion of training, the candidate will be on‑call as needed.
- The candidate must use their own personal vehicle to deliver meals to eligible seniors in Lebanon County.
- Work hours are approximately 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Hours are subject to change depending on weather, route, driving conditions, or other factors.
- No telework option.
- Salary: $13.25 per hour plus mileage reimbursement at the current IRS mileage rate.
- Six months of experience driving a motor vehicle as a regular duty, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Preference given to candidates living in Lebanon County.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
