Driver License Examiner w​/ CDL (Selinsgrove

This position evaluates driver skills, reviews identity documents, and supports customer transactions to ensure safe and lawful licensing practices. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:

• Safety Evaluation:Assess physical qualifications, driving skills, and vehicle conditions during examinations
• Knowledge Testing:Administer written tests to confirm that applicants understand traffic laws and road signs
• Road Examination:Conduct pre-trip, skills, and driving tests for commercial and non-commercial applicants
• Document Review:Examine identity documents to confirm authenticity and prevent fraud
• Customer Processing:Issue licenses and identification cards while providing accurate program information
• Regulation Compliance:Follow REAL , fee waiver, and customer service policies during all licensing activities

• Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
• Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel to other driver license centers may be required as necessary.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;
  or
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

• All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
• All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
• All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
• This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
