Job Summary

The Ministry Volunteer Coordinator is a key director role responsible for cultivating a vibrant culture of serving across the parish. This person will equip leaders, strengthen ministries, and help parishioners discern and step into their God-given charisms. The ideal candidate is a Spirit-led leader who is passionate about discipleship, thrives in team development, and has a heart for building systems that help people flourish in ministry.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and strengthen a team-based ministry model that empowers leaders and ensures long‑term sustainability.
  • Serve as a liaison between ministry leaders and coaches and parish leadership.
  • Plan and lead key parish initiatives including:
  • Serve Like Jesus Weekend (ministry invitation and recruitment focus)
  • Changemakers (celebration of volunteers)
    • Partners Weekend (St. Vincent de Paul, Beacon House, Knight of Columbus, and Catholic Women’s League)
    • Oversee Responsible Ministry processes to ensure safe ministry environments.
    • Develop and manage the Serve budget, in consultation with the Finance Council.
  • Create and manage a policy and procedure document for ministry calendar booking requests and special event requests.
  • Coordinate with the parish Communications Coordinator to ensure ministry events, volunteer opportunities, and key initiatives are effectively promoted.
  • Build into and support up to 6 ministry coaches and leaders through monthly one on ones, regular training, encouragement, and resources.
  • Design and execute, with the support of the Leadership Development Coordinator, three Leadership Summits yearly, that strengthen team culture, address challenges, and advance leadership capabilities.
  • Promote the Many Parts Ministries Charism Tool as a pathway for parishioners to discover their gifts.
  • Develop, train, and support a team of facilitators who guide parishioners in identifying their charisms and discerning ministry involvement.
  • Utilize parish data related to individual strengths, gifting, and current or potential ministry involvement.
  • Create and implement a plan to use charism assessments to integrate ministry members, new parishioners wanting to serve, and those not currently serving, helping them find meaningful ministry opportunities
Qualifications
  • Active spiritual life rooted in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, committed to personal prayer, and active participation in a church community and has a passion for parish renewal.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, problem solving, and relational skills.
  • Experience developing teams and empowering volunteer leaders.
  • Organizational and administrative strength with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with staff and parish leadership.
  • Proficiency with technology including church database management tools, G- suite including G-mail and Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and video- conferencing systems.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required for major parish initiatives or events.
  • Embraces servant leadership - we lead by serving others.
  • Experience with charism discernment tools or strengths-based ministry.
