6 Month Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose

To carry out general building and domestic electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, and fault-finding works across residential properties. The post holder will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current industry regulations and contract standards.

Undertake general building and domestic electrical maintenance works.

Carry out inspection, fault finding, testing, and remedial works within domestic properties.

Complete rewiring projects and electrical installation works as required.

Perform electrical testing and certification in line with current regulations.

Ensure all electrical works comply with NICEIC standards and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Wiring Regulations – BS 7671: 18th Edition (including amendments).

Adhere to relevant health and safety legislation and company policies at all times.

Identify and report potential hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues.

Ensure all works meet required contractual and quality standards.

Maintain accurate documentation and certification for completed works.

Liaise professionally with tenants, clients, and colleagues while working in occupied properties.

Proven experience in general building and domestic electrical maintenance.

Previous experience in inspection, fault finding, and testing of domestic installations.

Working knowledge of NICEIC requirements and BS 7671 (18th Edition, including amendments).

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to electrical works.

Ability to identify and highlight potential safety hazards.

Experience working in social housing or tenanted properties.

City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

2391 (Inspection and Testing) or equivalent qualification.
