Department SummaryThe College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences (PAHS) at the University of North Texas prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, exercise physiology and urban design.
We have two schools with undergraduate and graduate programs, the Kristin Farmer Autism Center, the Center for Public Management, the UNT Speech and Hearing Center, the UNT Work Inclusion and Supported Employment (UNTWISE) program, UNT ELEVAR, and several professional development and clinical training programs to facilitate careers to address a global society.
Position OverviewThe School of Health Sciences, located within PAHS, seeks a Senior Administrative Coordinator to provide advanced administrative, operational and financial support for the school and its leadership. This position serves as a key point of coordination for school operations, including financial processes, personnel administration and academic support activities. The role works closely with faculty, staff and university leadership and requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment and the ability to manage confidential information.
Responsibilities include monitoring budgets and financial transactions, maintaining payroll and personnel records, processing hiring documentation and ePARs, coordinating office operations and supervising administrative staff and student assistants. The position also supports academic operations by assisting with course scheduling and other academic administrative processes, while preparing reports, correspondence and other materials for school leadership.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic environment.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and five years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Job Duties- Financial and Budget Management:
Maintain payroll and budget records; monitor accounts and expenditures; process requisitions and financial transactions; complete PCard purchases and process ABAs, IDTs and reimbursements. - Personnel and Payroll Administration:
Maintain personnel and payroll records; approve timesheets; prepare and submit new hire ePARs for faculty, staff, adjuncts, teaching fellows/assistants and hourly employees. - Office Operations and Supervision:
Coordinate daily administrative operations; supervise administrative staff and student assistants; support hiring and onboarding processes; coordinate staff scheduling and office workflows. - Administrative and Academic Support:
Provide administrative and academic support to school leadership and faculty. Prepare correspondence, reports and confidential materials; sign routine administrative documents; coordinate course scheduling and assist with other academic processes; identify operational issues and research solutions to improve administrative and academic workflows.
