General DescriptionUnder the general supervision of the Office Manager, the Seasonal Clerk I performs entry‑level to routine clerical work including general clerical duties, customer service, revenue collection, license and permit sales, and automated campsite registration for a State Park. The clerk provides information to the public, accounts for daily revenue and ancillary product sales, prepares reports, processes correspondence, and performs general cleaning of Headquarters.
The clerk operates a credit card machine, campsite registration computer, and license sales machine. The position works under close supervision with minimal latitude for independent judgment and performs additional duties as assigned. The clerk complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Perform general clerical duties and customer service.
- Collect revenue and process sales of licenses, permits, and ancillary products.
- Operate credit card, payment, and campsite registration systems.
- Prepare and submit daily revenue reports.
- Process correspondence and maintain headquarters records.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of office and work areas.
- Adhere to all agency rules and regulations and TPWD safety program.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education:
Completion of 8th grade. - Experience:
No experience required. - Licensure:
Valid State driver’s license. - Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and make independent, sound decisions.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and account for revenue.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Applicants aged 16 or 17 may be considered under Texas Child Labor Laws.
- Required to work 40 hours per week with variable hours and days off.
- Required to perform work outdoors in occasional adverse weather conditions.
- May be required to operate a state vehicle and travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
- Must conform to agency work rules, safety program, and dress and grooming standards.
