Compensation:
Hiring range $25.93 - $37.60 per hour.

Position:
Full‑time hourly, scheduled 40 hours per week, Benefit Eligibility Group: BMEA (20+ hours).

Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, provides support to the daily operations of the violation bureau and performs related duties as required. Participates as a team member to deliver excellent customer service. With strong attention to detail, performs financial transactions and various administrative functions to process and maintain accurate information and records.

Responsibilities
  • Perform customer service administration duties such as answering phones, greeting the public, answering routine questions, and referring visitors to appropriate areas.
  • Interact with departments and agencies that file summonses with the court.
  • Disseminate accurate information regarding current case status, dispositions, and court‑ordered sanctions to departments, the public, and other agencies such as the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, CCIC/NCIC, Probation Departments, Motor Vehicle Division, and United States Military Office of Personnel Management.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures set by the Court Administrator, Judge, state statutes, and local ordinances.
  • Process system entries for traffic, general, animal, photo, and parking violations, including data entry, payments, and deferred judgments.
  • Address customer complaints regarding parking violations and determine applicability of suspension criteria; proactively educate the public to deter further violations.
  • Administer court dockets, issue warrants, writs, outstanding judgments, and defaults as per judges’ orders.
  • Purge closed files in accordance with record retention guidelines.
  • Other duties as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Monitor and ensure integrity of large amounts of cash in accordance with financial requirements.
  • Assess the accuracy of bonds submitted.
  • Process and maintain accurate and detailed records of personal recognizance, cash, and surety bonds.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer platforms.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, emotionally charged environment.
  • Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Acquire and maintain a Colorado Bureau of Investigation operator security number.
  • Courteous and effective communication skills.
  • Must successfully pass a background check before first day of work and maintain acceptable screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish.
  • Experience in cash and payment handling, including e‑payments.
  • Knowledge of the Boulder Revised Code.
  • Knowledge of court legal databases.
  • Knowledge of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation system.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. 0‑2 years of experience performing relevant duties.

Sufficient manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate computer equipment and other office equipment.

Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to work in an office setting.

Work environment:
Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises.

Machines and equipment used:
Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer video monitor and/or operating a keyboard.
