Inventory Planner

Department: Supply Chain

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Coppell, Texas

Description

The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing item inventory with a sense of urgency and focus in order to meet or exceed customers’ expectations while keeping the inventory volume of slower‑turning / less profitable inventory categories lean.

Requirements for success:
  • Monitor purchasing requirements and manage inventory levels
  • Analyze inventory needs and urgency to determine the best way to fulfill requirements
  • Assist in setting replenishment parameters and influencing order levels for stockable inventory
  • Create advance buys and scheduled deliveries based on demand history and growth expectations
  • Communicate with purchasing team and leadership on any new developments in sales and vendors
  • Create and send purchase orders to vendors
  • Communicate and resolve issues in shipping, pricing or quantity
  • Compile and send POS and consignment reports
  • Liason between internal and external customers to resolve issues
  • Evaluate, clarify, and act on customer forecast information
Ideal candidate qualities include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 years of work experience in a Buyer or Planning role (or in a similar capacity).
  • Experience using ERP systems with forecasting/demand planning capabilities.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvement with an assigned set of suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
