Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional and curricular support to resource/inclusion teachers and general education classrooms where students are served.

Provide for the development, coordination, and implementation of instructional services for all students with disabilities within the general education classroom.

Collaborate with campus/district staff and outside personnel to improve student's instructional and functional skills.

Provide professional development for resource/inclusion and general education teachers.

Ensure compliance within the established policies and procedures mandated by state and federal laws.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master's Degree.

Obtained or completing, with proof from an accredited university, the appropriate licensure and or certification (i.e. administrator, supervisor, mid-management, principal)
- Experience:

Five years of successful leadership and/or commensurate experience

Five years of experience working with students with disabilities within the general education setting Ability to communicate and train leaders, teachers, and paraprofessionals on various aspects related to special education

Ability to evaluate instructional programs and effectiveness

Ability to develop and deliver training to varied adult learners.

Knowledge of issues related to dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Planning, implementing, and working with staff in the evaluation of K-12 resource/fundamental programs in reading and math.

Acting as a liaison with other district staff and parents.

Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate IEP Development Cycle practices and procedures.

Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional services to provide learning in the least restrictive environment.

Developing and creating training to support the successful implementation of special education programs and services.

Assisting in determining the services of students in the least restrictive environment.

Assist in the development of general education and special education teacher performance skills.

Train and assist classroom teachers in the appropriate research-based instructional techniques and strategies.

Provide leadership and direction to K-12 principals, assistant principals, and campus academic leaders.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Assist campuses in disaggregating and using assessment data to inform instruction.

Observe classroom instruction and provide teacher feedback on best teaching practices.

Assist in the preparation of the budget and administration of the budget for supplies and resource/fundamental programs.

Keep informed of, and comply with, state, district, and school regulations and policies.

Model integrity, work ethic, and professionalism as examples for LISD.
