Primary
Purpose:
Facilitate the improvement of student learning and the school's academic achievement.
Provide ongoing assistance and support to home school liaisons, social workers and teachers.
Provide programs, training and materials that help parents develop successful parenting skills.
Equip District Parent Educators with strategies to support district parents with parenting needs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate
Master's Degree preferred
Title I Program experience preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and technology applications
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Ability to interpret data
Knowledge of special needs of disadvantaged students
Knowledge of variety of parent involvement programs
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities and Duties:
* Assure that the school complies with all laws and requirements of ESSA and Title I and will assist the principal, staff, and community in:
* Providing leadership in planning parental involvement strategies with campus staff.
* Providing timelines and procedures for campus documentation of all components of ESSA
* Providing training for Title 1 contact personnel in ESSA requirements such as development of the Title 1 Comprehensive Needs Assessment, School Parental Involvement Plan, School Parent Compact and Parent Event Calendar;
* Assisting new Title 1 campuses in Title 1 requirements;
* Attending state/regional conferences and meetings regarding Title 1 updates;
* Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment through analysis of disaggregated student performance data, demographic data, and other pertinent indicators;
* Developing a school wide Title I plan that focuses monetary and human resources on identified needs;
* Monitoring consistently the accurate implementation of all aspects of the Title I plan;
* Conducting both formative and summative evaluation of the effectiveness of the Title I plan;
* Organizing and conducting parent involvement programs that may include but are not limited to literacy, parenting, parent-child academic interactions, and community activities;
* Collaborate with the principal and other school and district personnel to plan and implement professional training for teachers, aides, administrators, pupil services personnel, parents, and other community audiences.
* Assist with federal and state Title I program evaluations.
* Assist the Title I Department staff in monitoring school-level compliance of all Title I assurances and in collecting and archiving all required Title I documentation.
* Work flexible hours (some after school hours) to facilitate staff training, parenting and tutoring programs, enrichment activities, and other duties as assigned from the school and/or district level.
* Assume other related Title I duties as assigned by the Title I Coordinator.
Communication:
* Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
* Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
* Plan events that will occur during the year, and have some effect on the grant's annual expenditures, and/or revenues.
* Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
