Position Summary:
Set schedule – singe cost objective – paid 100% from Title I
The Title I Tutor prepares, educates, and coaches students in a Responsive Education Solutions (Responsive Ed) school. The tutor works with parents and students to provide and implement individualized instruction to improve student achievement.
Qualifications- One of the following:
- A High School Diploma and 48 hours of higher education
- An Associate’s degree or above
- Successful completion of the THEA or other appropriate examination or core academic ability
- Successful completion of the Paraprofessional Educator course provided by Master Teacher
- Successful completion of Training of Paraprofessionals provided by Regional Service Centers
- Texas State Teacher Certification (preferred)
- ESL Certification (preferred)
- Teaching experience in a Public School is preferred
- A passion for children
- The ability and patience to work interactively with children
- Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to understand the individual needs of each student
- Clear understanding of goal setting for students
- The ability to communicate with all levels of students, parents, the administrative staff, and Campus Directors
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to travel to local area schools
- General knowledge of Responsive Ed curriculum and instruction methods (preferred)
- Provide tutoring and instruction to develop the students understanding in assigned content areas.
- Provide sheltered instruction support for language acquisition.
- Coach and help students to become familiar with state mandated testing and other assigned testing material.
- Teach students and parents stress reducing techniques.
- Allocate time and resources to areas the student(s) are struggling.
- Perform tutorials, during normal business hours
- Travel to local schools as required.
