Position Overview: The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a qualified individual to teach Forensic Microscopy for students in the Forensic Science Program during the Fall 2026 semester. Course availability depends on program/department teaching need, sufficient enrollment, and college approval. Adjunct Instructors plan classes, implement learning objectives, evaluate student learning outcomes, adhere to college, department, and division responsibilities, and hold regular office hours.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver forensic microscopy instruction to undergraduate students.
- Develop syllabi, assignments, and assessment tools aligned with course objectives.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Hold office hours and mentor students.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of forensic microscopy techniques and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in forensic science, microscopy, or related field.
- Professional expertise, certification, or licensure in forensics, microscopic trace materials, firearms evidence, or similar.
- One year of college‑level teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of experience microanalysis of trace evidence (hair, paint, glass, fibers, soil, GSR) and bullet striations.
