Department SummaryThe Department of Communication Studies cultivates communication scholarship and practice from various perspectives to foster creative, self‑reflexive, and engaged leaders in their personal, professional, and civic lives. We study human communication. Our students master communication skills, research communication theories, and prepare for a variety of different careers.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position OverviewThe specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. As the instructor of record, adjunct Instructors may be expected to create course syllabi and assignments. Adjunct Instructors are responsible for course delivery, assessing student performance, and offering timely student feedback as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- MA or MS in Communication Studies or closely related field.
- Previous teaching experience in Communication Studies or closely related field.
- Terminal degree in discipline is preferred.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
