Assistant Professor of Disease Ecology

Position:
Full-time, 9‑month, tenure‑track assistant professor in disease ecology, beginning January 2027.

Location:

TTU Lubbock, main campus and affiliated facilities.

Responsibilities

• Engage students at undergraduate and/or graduate levels across teaching, research, and service activities.
• Develop and deliver instruction in disease ecology and related natural resources management.
• Conduct research and generate scholarship in disease ecology.
• Support classroom and research mentoring for a diverse student body, including first‑generation students.
• Participate in integrative research teams and interdisciplinary projects.

Faculty Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Epidemiology, Immunology or a closely related field.
• Strong publication record focused on disease ecology must be established by January 2027.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research in disease ecology and related natural resource management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong quantitative skills.
• Commitment to educating and empowering a multifaceted student body, including first‑generation students.
• Experience working as part of an integrative research team.
