OverviewThe Jule Museum is looking for Auburn University students for the position of Student Guide to serve as tour guides, public facilitators, and peer-to-peer leaders for the museum on campus. Student Guides engage with a diverse range of campus and community audiences in thinking about art and ideas. They warmly engage the public in the galleries, research upcoming exhibitions, and work with PreK-12, community, and university audiences.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
Preparing materials for class sessions
Facilitating activities
Supervising PreK-12 students
Guides will learn about art and art making, develop new programs and projects, andlearn more about careers in museums through hands‑on experience.
Support the Curatorial and Academic Affairs team with public engagements
Serve as a gallery guide, engaging with guests as appropriate and conducting tours
Research collection objects and upcoming exhibitions
Write interpretive material to support audience engagement
Prototype and prepare materials for hands‑on activities
Supervise students while they attend museum classes
Develop strengths as a public speaker, educator, and facilitator for PreK-12, college, and adult audiences
