To provide instruction and assistance necessary to enable all children to achieve and function successfully in the least restrictive environment.

• Bachelor's Degree
• Special Education Certificate

• Understanding of various disabilities and special education law
• Skills to assist in remediation of various disabilities
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of MISD policies and procedures
• Knowledge of change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills

• Teach children with learning impairments to function in regular classroom with modifications
• Plan programs of study that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
• Attend Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
• Develop and update individual education plans for students
• Work in collaboration with classroom teachers to formulate teaching strategies, plan lessons, and evaluate student progress
• Maintain confidentiality of student information unless disclosure serves professional purposes or is required by law
• Perform other School Health and Related Services (SHARS) duties as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
