Professor Of Practice - Social Entrepreneurship and Enterprise
Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX
Full-Time, 12-month appointment beginning September 1, 2026
The Danielle Alexandra and Rick Clemmer Institute for Social Entrepreneurship and Enterprise at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Professor of Practice position to begin September 1, 2026. The position includes accruing vacation and reporting leave monthly in accordance with TTU policies, and following the staff holiday schedule.
Responsibilities- Teach courses aligned with the Institute’s mission and curricular integration.
- Mentor students in professional and career preparation.
- Liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
- Serve as Director of the Institute, providing vision, strategy, and hands‑on leadership.
- Design and deliver programs, secure resources, and create/enhance partnerships.
- Mentor student‑ and faculty‑led ventures and track outcomes, translating research and passion into sustainable impact.
- Engage and empower diverse student populations at undergraduate and/or graduate levels through teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
- Accrue vacation days.
- Report leave monthly per TTU Operating Policy 70.01 and System Regulation 07.12.
- Staff holiday schedule is available to all employees.
- Master’s degree in business, public policy, non‑profit management, social sciences, engineering, or related field – or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 6 years leading programs in entrepreneurship, social impact, venture incubation/acceleration, community development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience designing and running competitive selection processes and milestone‑based award programs.
- Record of coaching founders/teams and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Strong partnership development and fundraising experience (grants, sponsor ships, or philanthropy).
- Financial management skills, including grant compliance and donor stewardship.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Teaching readiness: prior higher‑education teaching, executive education, or substantial instructional facilitation experience; ability to teach courses aligned with the Institute’s mission.
- Experience operating at a university innovation hub or research park.
- Background working with rural, frontier, or underserved communities.
- Familiarity with social enterprise legal structures, impact investment, pay‑for‑success, and government contracting.
- Experience with curriculum design, assessment, and data systems for impact tracking and public reporting.
