Position DescriptionAre you a library leader passionate about empowering health professionals to pioneer breakthroughs in medicine, nursing, and beyond? We are seeking a dynamic Unit Assistant Director – Reference Librarian who assists the Unit Associate Director and the Executive Director of Libraries in the library’s overall operations and provides leadership to staff. This role isn’t just about the management of a campus library – it’s about curating a launchpad for evidence-based discoveries, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and bridging cutting-edge resources with the diverse communities of rural West Texas.

Pay Grade Maximum$75,000
Major/Essential Functions- Assists Unit Associate Director and Executive Director of Libraries in administration of library services.
- Manages public services staff and resources as required for daily library operation.
- Executes duties required for reference librarianship and public services, namely answering patron questions, supporting institutional outreach, serving as a liaison to select clinical and academic departments.
- Actively participates in research projects and embedded instruction as needed.

Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited institution.
- At least three years of experience in a health sciences library environment, with a preferred two years of supervisory experience.
- Skilled in research strategy and health informatics database searching.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
