Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a College Pastor to lead The Journey, its ministry to college students. This leader will bring a love for university students, strong biblical teaching, and the relational wisdom to help young adults develop a faith that shapes everyday life.

The College/Teaching Pastor will provide direction for the ministry and participate in a preaching rotation approximately 20 times per year. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm grounded in spiritual maturity, connects naturally with college students, and earns trust through consistent presence and meaningful conversations. This is an opportunity for a gifted communicator with a shepherd’s heart to invest deeply in students during a formative season of life.

* Key Responsibilities:

* ** Lead the college ministry:
** Provide spiritual leadership and clear direction for The Journey, aligning its priorities with Southcrest’s mission and beliefs.
* ** Preach and teach Scripture:
** Participate in the preaching rotation approximately 20 times annually, preparing biblically grounded messages that connect with college students.
* ** Build meaningful relationships:
** Be an accessible, consistent pastoral presence who listens well, offers wise guidance, and walks alongside students.
* ** Strengthen discipleship and community:
** Develop opportunities through home groups and personal discipleship for students to deepen their faith and build lasting relationships.
* ** Equip ministry leaders:
** Identify, encourage, and develop student leaders and volunteers who can disciple others and share ministry responsibilities.
* ** Guide ministry gatherings:
** Collaborate with ministry partners to plan Tuesday night gatherings and other opportunities that support worship, connection, and spiritual growth.
* ** Encourage outreach and service:
** Help students share their faith and participate in local service and missions.
* ** Partner with the broader church:
