We are seeking an experienced LOTO Coordinator to support commissioning and startup activities on a brownfield power-generation project
.
The LOTO Coordinator will manage hazardous-energy isolation as equipment transitions from construction through commissioning, testing, energization, startup, and operations
. This is a field-based, multidiscipline role supporting both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate LOTO and hazardous-energy-control activities during commissioning and startup.
- Identify and verify hazardous-energy sources, isolation points, and system boundaries.
- Coordinate electrical and mechanical equipment isolation, including motor testing, bump tests, energization, and startup.
- Manage multidiscipline/group LOTO activities across Construction, Commissioning, Startup, and Operations.
- Perform field verification of equipment isolation and zero-energy conditions.
- Review P&IDs, electrical one-lines, schematics, and system drawings to identify isolation points.
- Maintain LOTO permits, isolation logs, lock/tag records, and equipment status.
- Utilize eLOTO, Permit-to-Work (PTW), or equivalent energy-isolation software
. - Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR and project/client LOTO procedures.
- 10+ years of industrial and/or power-generation experience.
- Power-generation commissioning/startup experience required.
- Strong hands-on LOTO and hazardous-energy-control experience.
- Experience coordinating both electrical and mechanical LOTO
. - Brownfield plant experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work around energized and operational plant systems.
- Experience with eLOTO, PTW, or similar energy-isolation software.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Industrial electrical background strongly preferred.
- Electrical commissioning, startup, or industrial electrician experience.
- Experience with brownfield power-plant projects.
- Experience reading P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and schematics.
- OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E training.
- Experience as an Authorized Employee/Person, LOTO Coordinator, or Isolation Coordinator.
Note: A college degree is not required. Candidates do not need to have held the exact title of LOTO Coordinator, provided they have significant LOTO responsibilities within a power-generation commissioning/startup environment.
