A leading provider of Building Management Systems (BMS), now part of a global automation and software group, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to support mission-critical data center projects across Texas. With a strong reputation for delivering advanced automation and system integration, the organization continues to expand its footprint in high-performance and critical infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform service calls and preventative maintenance on BMS systems within data center environments
- Troubleshoot installations and resolve system deficiencies in mission-critical facilities
- Communicate effectively with customers to assess service needs, coordinate scheduling, and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Monitor building and environmental control systems to maintain optimal performance and uptime standards
- Identify and implement system enhancements and upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency
- Conduct building surveys and collaborate with operations to estimate additional work
- Perform software programming, equipment start-up, tuning, calibration, and commissioning of BAS/BMS systems
- Support commissioning efforts for new data center construction and expansions
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in critical facility controls
- Work closely with service and project managers to meet timelines and budgets
- Maintain clear communication with customers, managers, subcontractors, and other trades
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in the HVAC Controls industry
- Experience supporting data centers or mission-critical environments strongly preferred
- Experience with Honeywell or Johnson Controls systems preferred
- Niagara Platform experience is a plus
- Experience with LON or BACnet interfaces
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC designs, symbols, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
