Traveling Staff Engineer
Braun Intertec is proud to be a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and testing firm of 1,000 employees with offices located in ten states. We are seeking a highly motivated traveling Staff Engineer to join our team. This role involves frequent travel to support renewable energy, infrastructure, and mission critical projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform oversight of other field personnel on remote job sites.
- Perform various field testing and observations at remote job sites.
- Assist field operations on remote projects with technician training and review.
- Closely coordinate field observations with engineering project lead.
- Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects, primarily in the power and renewables or mission critical field.
- Review field logs and soil samples for classification and boring log preparation.
- Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies.
- Prepares engineering reports for senior review.
- Manage routine to complex geotechnical engineering projects including project scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
- Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope with Senior review.
- Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
- Coordinate with regional operations to effectively coordinate staff, resources, and workloads.
- Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Support client relationships to effectively achieve power, renewables, and mission critical market-sector goals and strategies.
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong organization and customer service skills.
- Ability to exceed client expectations while thriving in a time critical / dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
- Ability to create, maintain, and communicate project budgets
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering field required.
- Two or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience with large-scale construction projects preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Expected travel is 60 to 90%.
