Job DetailsLocation:
Houston, Texas. The Teller position is responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing lobby and drive‑thru transactions for bank customers.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays 7:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Responsible for comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer transactions
- Receive checks and cash for deposits, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records
- Count checks and package coins and currency
- Assist in the bank‑by‑mail function
- Issue cashier’s checks and gift cards
- Promote and explain other financial institution services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes, and cashier’s checks
- Check night depository bags and record proper information on the financial institution’s forms
- Receive consumer loan and other payments, ensuring payments match balances due
- Ensure the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of shift and compare the totaled amount to computer‑generated proof sheet
- Report any discrepancies to the supervisor/management as necessary
- Assist in balancing bank products at end of day
- Perform fraud review for mobile check deposits
- Assist in other daily teller tasks such as applying postage to outgoing mail, directing incoming faxes and mail, and answering phones
- Follow established processes and guidelines in daily activities and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations
