The Credit Operations Flood Specialist reviews new and existing loan files and ensures that all flood insurance requirements are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares and reviews flood insurance calculations (20% of time).
- Reviews flood insurance policies and verifies appropriate coverage is documented for all loans (20% of time).
- Identifies potential risk exposures and needs for flood coverage (20% of time).
- Communicates with lending or other bank staff on flood insurance-related questions or topics (10% of time).
- Adheres to bank policies and procedures while working on daily tasks related to flood insurance (20%).
- Ensures loans comply with all regulatory requirements (10% of time).
- Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned (quarterly).
- Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner (daily).
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements represent knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and ExperienceHigh school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skill area (e.g., data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation), plus 19 to 23 months related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication SkillsAbility to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, percent; prepare and interpret bar graphs.
Critical Thinking SkillsAbility to solve practical problems and handle a variety of known variables where limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagram format.

Physical ActivitiesSemi-repetitive, low physical. Requires periods of concentration for varied time cycles. Must walk, sit, use hands, talk, hear; occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; may lift/move up to 25 pounds. Close vision required.
