Mortgage Loan Originator / Advisor, Banking Operations, Financial Compliance
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team. This role is responsible for interviewing and qualifying members for mortgage products, guiding them through the loan process, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Interview and qualify members for mortgage loan products
- Assist Loan Department with mortgage product expertise
- Conduct interviews (in-person and phone) with members and realtors
- Ensure documentation is complete and compliant
- Order appraisals, surveys, and insurance
- Review and submit loans for underwriting
- Issue Adverse Action Notices as required
- Maintain communication with members and realtors
- Process online applications
- Work with investors on niche and government loans
- Assist in staff training
- Cross-sell additional products
- Participate in escrow analysis
Understand compliance to ensure that work complies with company’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Qualifications & Requirements- High School Diploma (additional coursework preferred)
- 4+ years mortgage lending experience
- Ability to close up to 80 loans or $12M annually
- Knowledge of Texas real estate law
- Understanding of Title Insurance Law
- Knowledge of Regulation C, Z, and FDCPA
- Experience with Down Payment Assistance Programs
- Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and loan software
Must be able to maintain up to 80 loans closed per year or up to $12,000,000 in loan volume consistently for at least a period of 12 months.
