Lubbock County is seeking an Elections Administrator. The Elections Administrator for Lubbock County is responsible for overseeing all operations of the Elections Department, ensuring secure, transparent, and legally compliant election processes. Appointed by the Lubbock County Election Commission and reporting to the County Judge, this leadership role manages election administration for federal, state, county, and local elections, including voter registration, precinct redistricting, poll worker management, voting systems, and public education.
The position also oversees election technology, including Hart Inter Civic and Know Ink systems, coordinates with government agencies and political parties, manages open records requests, and supervises department staff, budgeting, strategic planning, inventory control, and public communications.
The ideal candidate will be a calm, confident, and highly professional leader with extensive knowledge of election administration, Texas election laws, and public sector operations. As the public face of the Elections Department, this individual must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak eloquently and transparently with the media, elected officials, staff, and the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement under pressure and the ability to effectively manage high‑stress situations, including technology issues, operational challenges, and time‑sensitive election matters, while maintaining public confidence and trust in the electoral process.
