Police Officer Reappointment
The Lubbock Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officer Reappointment
. This opportunity is available to former City of Lubbock Police Officers who previously separated under honorable conditions.
Reappointed officers will perform law enforcement duties including patrol, response to calls for service, crime and accident investigation, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and protection of life and property.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have left the Department under honorable conditions.
- Valid Texas Operator’s License.
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer License.
- Meet departmental physical fitness standards.
- Successfully pass background investigations and screenings.
- Complete departmental briefing on law and regulation changes before returning to field duty.
Applicants for reappointment must be former City of Lubbock Police Officers whose separation occurred within the past five (5) years.
Candidates must currently hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Peace Officer License. Applicants must meet such other qualifications as may be specified in Chapter 143 of the Local Government Code and/or additional standards specified by the Lubbock Civil Service Commission and City of Lubbock administration, as amended.
