As a member of the health care team, the Child Life Specialist supports children, teens, and family members by providing developmentally appropriate play/recreation, education and preparation for medical procedures, and emotional support.

Key Details
  • Multiple openings for Child Life Specialist
  • On‑site position, reporting daily as scheduled
  • Flexible to work a rotating schedule, including weekends & holidays
  • Full Time (Exempt overtime status), Day shift
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or a closely related field
  • Child‑life specific clinical training (practicum and/or internship) in a pediatric medical setting
  • 600+ clinical hours supervised by a certified child life specialist
  • Trained in child development principles and the impact of illness and hospitalization on children and families; application of therapeutic play, developmental education, and expressive modalities to address psychosocial needs
  • Upon hire:
    National Certified Child Life Specialist – Association of Child Life Professionals
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of experience working with young children and adolescents in a healthcare setting
