Extended Job Title Associate Vice President - Research Integrity
Position Description The Associate Vice President for Research Integrity serves as the institution's research integrity officer and empowers leaders within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) research community to act with the highest ethical standards to create and maintain a culture of ethics compliance and integrity in all that we do. This position provides executive leadership, oversight, and direction to ensure institutional compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies governing research integrity and responsible conduct of research.

Major/Essential Functions- Oversight of the administrative operations for the TTUHSC research compliance and oversight committees.
- Supervise Research Integrity Office staff.
- Provide guidance and assistance to investigators related to research compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining AAHRPP and AAALAC accreditation.
- Develop, implement, review and revise as needed TTUHSC research policies and operating procedures.
- Develop, oversee and promote programs to support the institutional culture of responsible research conduct among all members of the TTUHSC community.
- Serve as the Research Integrity Officer to TTUHSC with regard to allegations of scientific misconduct.
- Serve as the Chairperson of TTUHSC Research Compliance Committee. Meet with individual faculty chairs of oversight committees as needed to ensure efficiency and compliance standards.
- Provide Executive Vice President, Research and Innovation (EVP) with information regarding research compliance issues across all campuses.
- Provide information and assistance to TTUHSC Office of General Counsel, Institutional Compliance Office, Office of Audit Services and other institutional and system-wide compliance groups as requested.
- Collaborate as needed to develop and review inter-institutional agreements to ensure that institutional policies, state and federal regulations are being followed.
- Provide system-wide expertise and assistance regarding research integrity and research compliance matters.
- Take charge of special projects as assigned by the EVP.
- Ability to maintain focus on multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated management experience in an area that entails regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience managing personnel and large projects.
- Extensive knowledge of federal regulations related to research compliance to include regulations related to humans, animals, select agents, financial conflicts of interest, etc.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree required in appropriate field based on assigned area of responsibility; nine years of professional and management experience in related area. Additional job-related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.
