Position Description

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing is dedicated to training knowledgeable, compassionate nurses and nurse practitioners to meet the critical nursing shortage in West Texas and across the nation. For 40 years, the School of Nursing has educated new nurses, strengthened the careers of experienced nurses, and prepared innovative nurses to become leaders in health care.

The Adjunct Faculty - Accelerated BSN - Mental Health - Austin supports the mission of TTUHSC School of Nursing through excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly engagement. Adjunct Faculty in this role support the Graduate Program by delivering high quality instruction in didactic or clinical, laboratory, simulation lab, and online settings, while participating in curriculum planning, academic advising, and professional development.

This position has a hybrid remote schedule for your convenience.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Is a non-tenure position providing didactic or clinical teaching support for the Accelerated BSN Program.
  • Reports directly to the Accelerated BSN Program Director.
  • Assists with didactic and clinical instruction and/or evaluation in a specified clinical area or in the simulation lab, as assigned.
  • Provides feedback to faculty regarding student performance and learning achievements.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on course content, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in baccalaureate nursing education.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in English language.
  • Awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years Mental Health experience.
  • Must reside in the Austin Area.
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
