Job Title

Lead Specialist - Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences

Position Description

Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Major / Essential Functions
  • Scheduling, recording and collecting patient charges, filing and expediting third‑party claims.
  • Medical records processing and compliance with billing and privacy requirements.
  • Communication with patients, providers, and referral sources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Coding and reimbursement experience in a physician group, clinic or academic healthcare setting.
  • Certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
Required Qualifications

High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
