Title: Athletic Trainer – Sports Medicine & DME Coordinator
Employment Status: Full-time
This position will serve as the central point of coordination for:
- School and athletic outreach contracts
- DME department operations (ordering, patient care, and accounts receivable)
- Saturday Morning Sports Clinic (fall season)
- Provider support for sports medicine and DME needs
- Develop, manage, and maintain contracts with local schools and athletic programs
- Serve as primary liaison between the practice and contracted schools
- Coordinate athletic training coverage schedules for events and practices
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, documentation, and reporting
- Identify and pursue new outreach opportunities to expand market presence
- Oversee daily DME operations including:
- Ordering and inventory management
- Patient education and fitting
- Documentation and compliance
- Coordinate with billing staff to support DME accounts receivable (AR)
- Monitor DME utilization, reimbursement trends, and denial issues
- Work with providers to ensure appropriate and efficient DME prescribing
- Assist with vendor relationships and cost control
- Organize and manage Saturday Morning Clinic operations during the fall sports season
- Serve as on-site clinical and operational lead
- Ensure clinic readiness (supplies, DME availability, workflow)
- Track volumes, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement
- Act as primary contact for providers regarding sports medicine needs
- Coordinate DME needs for clinics, outreach events, and athletic coverage
- Assist with sideline, clinic, and post-injury care coordination
- Support communication between providers, schools, PT, and DME staff
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) – BOC certified
- Eligible for or licensed in the State of Texas
- Experience in sports medicine, orthopedic settings, or outreach programs preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of DME processes, documentation, and compliance preferred (training can be provided)
