Orthopedic Medical Assistant

Overview

Lubbock Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced and eager Medical Assistant to work alongside fellow Medical Assistants, Clinic Coordinators, Physician Assistants, and Doctors.

• Insurance authorizations (MRIs, injections, etc.)
• Staple & suture removal
• Answering and returning patient phone calls
• Rooming patients and obtaining history & vitals
• Scheduling appointments
• Being the liaison between patient and provider

• Allied Healthcare Professional preferred (Medical Assistant, Licensed V. Nurse, Athletic Trainer, etc.)
• High school or equivalent (Required)
• BLS Certification preferred
• Allied Healthcare Profession License or Certification required

• Previous work experience in healthcare preferred
• Previous work experience in orthopedics preferred
• 1 year healthcare experience preferred
• 1 year orthopedic experience preferred

• Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) preferred
• Bracing & casting preferred
• Drawing injections preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Friendly and willing to learn

Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Lunch 12:00-1:00)

Friday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM

Saturday Sports Injury 8:30 AM-11:00 AM

• Full-time
• Hourly rate: $15.00+ based on experience and education
