Are you an experienced Hospital Pharmacist looking for your next travel assignment? We are seeking a highly motivated Travel Inpatient Pharmacist to join a pediatric acute care hospital team. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your clinical expertise while working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Hospital experience is required. Candidates with only retail pharmacy experience will not be considered. Pediatric exposure is strongly preferred.

Job Summary

The Inpatient Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients in an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include medication verification, sterile compounding, clinical dosing, therapeutic monitoring, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify physician medication orders
  • Dispense medications accurately and safely
  • Prepare sterile IV medications using aseptic technique
  • Compound intravenous medications and specialty preparations
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic drug monitoring
  • Monitor renal dosing adjustments
  • Verify pediatric medication dosing
  • Provide medication counseling and clinical recommendations
  • Manage high-alert medications
  • Prepare IV piggybacks, IV push medications, and TPN admixtures
  • Maintain compliance with medication safety standards
  • Utilize automated medication dispensing systems
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Document interventions using Epic EMR
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Texas Pharmacist License (Required)
  • PharmD Degree
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Inpatient Hospital Pharmacy experience
  • Hospital Pharmacy experience is required
  • Some Pediatric Hospital experience required
  • Experience using Epic Electronic Medical Record
  • Experience working in an Acute Care Hospital

Candidates with only Retail Pharmacy experience will not be considered.

  • Active Texas Pharmacist License

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
