Position Description
A Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center medical student performing basic and applied research in the program of their sponsoring faculty member.
Major/Essential Functions- Manage lab operations
- Support team members
- Curate data
- Conduct experiments
- Conduct data searches

Required Qualifications1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Medical Student.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in molecular and genetic biology techniques, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, restriction digestion, ligation, and gene expression analysis.
- Trained in immunology and microbiology methods, including bacterial culturing, Gram staining, biochemical and ATP assays, antibiotic susceptibility testing, immunodiffusion, and blood cell analysis.
- Background in animal cell and tissue culture, including work with cell lines, primary cultures, transfections, cytotoxicity assays, micropropagation, and callus induction.
