Clinical Asst Professor HSC - Psychology Position Description
The Department of Psychiatry at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking tenure or non-tenure track facultypsychologists to join our team and help expand the mental and behavioral health services of children, adolescents, and families in West Texas. This position will include involvement in programs developed by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium, which utilize telehealthto provide services to youth in school districts and primary care offices across the state.
This position will also provide a unique opportunity for involvement in an innovative, stepped-care mental health service model that includes outpatient, intensiveoutpatient, and partial hospitalization programs, all of which arehoused in a newly-developed, state-of-the-art location within Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, somevariation by academic unit. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Functions
- Work collaboratively with a team of providers (e.g., nurses,social workers, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors, psychiatrists) to provide comprehensive,evidence-based care for youth with a range of behavioral and emotional difficulties, as well as medical conditions.
- Providing and supervising evidence-based assessment and intervention services to youth and families
- Engaging in team-based consultation.
- Clinical teaching and program development will be components ofthe position, and numerous opportunities for collaborative researchare available.

Required Qualifications- Ph.D./Psy.
D. in clinical, school, or counseling psychology froman APA-accredited doctoral program. - Completion of an APA-accredited predoctoral internship.
- Completion of or in process of completing a postdoctoralfellowship.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination(USMLE) Step 3.

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visapetitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
