We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital pharmacy team.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in delivery and maintenance of pharmacy services.
  • Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners.
  • Communicates pertinent pharmacy issues.
  • Supervises pharmacy technicians.
  • Assists the Director with clinical functions such as drug reviews, DUE criteria, antibiotic sensitivity reports, adverse drug reaction reports, and pharmacy interventions summary.
  • Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department.
  • Collects and analyzes data and maintains documentation of all clinical activities.
  • Participates in hospital meetings and committees as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be licensed and registered by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.

    D. from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Three years of experience as a practicing pharmacist in a hospital or commercial drug store.

  • Emergency drug therapy – ACLS/BLS
  • Pharmacokinetics
  • Patient counseling
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of:
    • The practice of institutional pharmacy
    • Pharmacy reference materials and utilization for provision of drug information
    • Computer systems
    • Practice of inventory/stock controls and systems
    • Drug/solutions delivery systems
    • Drug interactions/incompatibilities
    • Current laws/regulations which affect the practice of pharmacy
    • Age related competencies:
      • Human development knowledge/skills
      • Pharmaceutical Care Needs of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric Patients
    • Basic computer literacy:
      • Knowing fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PCs
      • Opening, reading, and responding to e‑mail
      • Managing electronic files
      • Printing electronic documents and reports
