Position DescriptionServe as a liaison between insurance and health care providers to ensure the timely coordination, and accurate processing, of patient referrals required for medical specialty visits.

Major/Essential Functions- Act as a Liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to determine patient eligibility for Collaborative Care.
- Obtain pre-authorization information for any patient whose insurance requires pre-approval for care/service.
- Process pre-service insurance verification on new COCM patients.
- Communicate collaboratively between departments to ensure providers, billers, and support staff have all necessary information for a successful patient appointment.

Required Qualifications- Associate degree plus one (1) year of experience directly related to the processing of patient referrals.
- OR High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- OR High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years of experience directly related to patient registration, patient scheduling, patient billing/collections, the processing of prior authorizations, and/or the processing of patient referrals.
