The Process Improvement Analyst will collaborate with Accreditation Service staff and other clinical operations staff throughout the hospital to abstract and analyze data, trends, and staff operations, to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Full Time M-F  8-5    University Health System  Lubbock, Texas

Reports to:

Job Specific Responsibilities  Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:  
• Assist with development and implementation of regulatory education for UMC staff  
• Abstract data for analysis, observe and report on trends, create corrective action plans to help the hospital achieve strategic plans and goals   
• Works collaboratively with assigned departments on specific metrics   
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience  
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field  • +2 years previous quality improvement, analytics, and/or informatics experience, preferably in a hospital setting  Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations    
• Performance Improvement Certification required or able to obtain within 12 months of hire into the role  
• RN or LVN licensure from the State of Texas Board of Nursing or recognized compact state license, preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.  
• Exercise independent judgement and able to make independent decisions  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally  
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite products, including spreadsheet applications    Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships  This position requires interaction with Director level staff, physicians, and other nursing and medical staff throughout the hospital    Physical Capabilities  Light lifting, frequent walking and sitting, hearing and clear speech patterns are necessary, as frequent communication is involved. Visual acuity is necessary for prolonged computer activity is necessary    Environmental Working Conditions  Exposure to blood borne pathogens, infectious organisms, agents and toxic chemicals is high.
