Risk Management Analyst RN
- Risk Management

Executes organization-wide risk management program in collaboration with Risk Management Director and SJHS Claims Manager. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the identification, prevention and management of clinical and non-clinical risks and day-to-day administration of the risk management program. Responsible for working with a high degree of autonomy as well as collaboration within the assigned ministries and the broader complex organization to build effective relationships and establish credibility with staff, leaders, physicians, patients and visitors in order to advance the risk management objectives, assure compliance with regulatory mandates and standards, improve patient safety and quality of care and protect organizational assets.

Acts as a subject matter expert, resource, internal consultant and educator for risk management issues. The role encompasses the key risk management functional areas of loss prevention and reduction, claims management and litigation support, risk transfer through insurance, regulatory and accreditation compliance and bioethics. Position requires "on-call" availability.

  • This role is an onsite position and will report onsite daily as scheduled.
  • This role requires for you to be located within a commutable distance of our office location listed below:
  • Texas:
    Lubbock
  • Flexible and available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled, based on departmental needs and operational requirements.
  • Work Status Available:
  • Full Time
  • Shift Available:
  • Day
  • Shifts Hours:
  • 8am - 5pm, Monday
    - Friday, with some flexibility; night and weekend rotating call requirement every 5-6 weeks

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related from an accredited university;
    Nursing preferred or 3 years of experience in a clinical risk management/patient safety role with related professional certification, CPHRM or CPPS, or able to obtain within 1 year of employment.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, or other health care related program.
  • Coursework/Training:
    On the job training and attendance at workshops and seminars by SJHS and external resources.
  • Upon hire:
    Texas Registered Nurse License.
  • 5 years General Nursing or Healthcare-related experience. Healthcare experience should be within a clinical setting such as hospital, outpatient clinic or home health services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare related field from an accredited university or
  • J.D.:
    Healthcare related field from an accredited university.
  • Upon hire:
    Certification in Risk Management (CPHRM), Patient Safety (CPPS) or Health Care Quality (CPHQ).
  • Experience with TeamSTEPPS or High Reliability Organization programs.
  • Legal or investigative experience.
  • Risk Management/Patient Safety/Quality Management experience.
