Job SummaryThe Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses.
Reports to:
Supervisor, Environmental Services.
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Refine and maintain floors and carpets throughout the main hospital and any assigned campuses
- Ensure clean utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas to visitors and staff
- Collect and dispose of soiled linen, and assist with clean linen distribution, when needed
- Provide minor general maintenance task including but not limited to: hanging drapes/ cubicle curtains, moving furniture, etc…
- All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
High School Diploma or GED.
Required Licensures/Certifications/RegistrationsN/A
Skills and Abilities- Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Attention to detail
This position requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety.
Physical CapabilitiesRequires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE);
Ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching.
This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/ blood borne pathogens is high risk.
