Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access; proactively provide face-to-face (or virtual as needed) education to providers and staff to integrate programs into office processes and workflows.
- Partner with therapeutic area office stakeholders (executives, providers, administrators, billing/coding, claims, revenue cycle) to support product access.
- Analyze access/reimbursement problems; support reimbursement issues with third-party payers at the provider level.
- Support pull-through on local coverage decisions; communicate policy changes/issues that may affect other departments.
- Maintain expertise in regional/local access landscape and serve as aligned therapeutic area product reimbursement expert.
- Interface with Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers for patient case management (tracking cases, resolution, reimbursement support, staff education).
- Collaborate cross-functionally within NPC to share customer needs and barriers.
- Educate HCPs on acquisition pathways and buy-and-bill end-to-end workflows, including centralized/decentralized acquisition and alternative channels (white/clear/brown bagging; alternate site of care).
- Assess access situation in assigned geography; develop and communicate a Plan of Action (POA).
- Educate stakeholders on ordering, payment, inventory, and product returns/replacement.
- Serve as designated reimbursement expert for offices and field teams.
- Engage non-prescribers (e.g., pharmacy, system leadership, financial counselors, administrators, revenue cycle).
- Bachelor’s degree required; business/biological science preferred; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in pharma/biotech (Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management), including 2 years in a Patient Services practice support role for specialty products.
- Experience with complex practices/health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
- Strategic proactive account management.
- Expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
- Experience with specialty pharmacy network acquisition; knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
- Reside within territory or within 60 miles of territory border; travel 60–80%; valid driver’s license.
